A few words about me...

I am a UK-based science fiction author, hailing originally from London. I have a deep passion for 'hard' science fiction and I hold a supreme reverence for all the genre greats, particularly Clarke, Bova, Baxter, and the enormously inspirational UK TV writer Chris Boucher.
I have an engineering background which has really coloured my character Marc Devin (hey, they say 'write what you know', right?), but the other main influence has been the rock-hard, gritty Spy-Fi genre of Adam Hall, John Le Carré, Frederick Forsythe, and to a lesser extent Ian Fleming. Years and years ago I came upon the idea of combining Hard Sci-Fi and Gritty Spi-Fi to create a series of books which you'll see emerging today from these pages.
The idea of writing has been 'in me' since I was 13yrs old and my English teacher at the time actively encouraged me to put pen to paper. And as I've taken time out to write more seriously now, I have formed some strong allegiances to various novelist groups, editors, and artists.
I have actually written these 'Devin's Way' books once before - that is to say, I published a first stab at the trilogy a few years ago, but I was never completely satisfied with the result. I'm sure this character has potential, so here is the whole thing dusted off and completely re-written - you could say, the fruits of the many COVID-19 lockdowns, fitted in-between a full time job. There's a lot of me in Peter Hubbard/Marc Devin and those of you close will have fun spotting it ;)
Best wishes, and a big THANKS for stopping by!
