The inspirations behind the 'Marc Devin' books
There are too many influences to note that inspired me to write the 'Marc Devin' books, but below are the main three. For those of you already familiar with them, I hope you get a kick spotting the occasional 'reverent reference' sprinkled here and there, throughout my books. ENJOY!

STAR COPS
For those of you unfamiliar with this superb BBC series from 1987 (which will be most of you I guess as it was never repeated and the videos & DVDs are deleted), I have included a link to 'The Cult of Star Cops' on youtube. Seriously, give it a go - the dialogue alone sizzles and crackles. I'm pleased to report this series has seen a continuation with most of the original cast, on Audio :)

Death on Saturn's Moon (AKA Ascension)
A highly underrated Indie pic made in 2000 by the talented John Krawlzik, featuring a solid performance by Paul L. Nolan and some creepy music from Len Miller. I don't think many people 'get' this film, but it's had quite the effect on me - you'll see how this has influenced 'Jupiter's Moon' when you read it. I've included a link to the film's trailer, and it's well worth tracking down a copy
The Spy Who Came In From The Cold
- John Le Carré
From the great John Le Carré. One of the simplest, and starkest books I've ever read and it still leaves quite the impression. The film is worth tracking down (made in 1965 during the height of the cold war), and both book and film paint a harrowing picture of the harsh realities of Spycraft, many, many miles away from James Bond frivolities. Therefore, I cite this book as the prime influence from the Spy-Fi genre on my Devin's Way series. Here's a clip of a superb performance from Richard Burton, as Alec Leamas
